Celebrating Teamwork

Its hard to believe that 2009 is coming to an end. Where did the time go?
It has been an inspiring year here at the Leadership Centre Willow Creek Canada. This year has brought its unique opportunities and has challenged us all to pull together as a staff and find new solutions and systems. I have had the privilege of traveling across Canada this year, I have been at a number of churches and have seen some tremendous teams in operation.

Here are some great team dynamics that I have seen at work:

• Smile and have fun while you are working. It sets the tone for the team.
  
• Obstacles are opportunities for new ideas and solutions.
• Passion speaks louder than words and is very contagious.
• Celebrate one anothers strengths and empower other team mates to shine.
• Cover for someone's missed step or mistakes. We all make mistakes.
• Engage as many volunteers as you can. It creates a sense of ownership and common purpose.

Is this an all inclusive list? No. Each time we travel to various churches across Canada, we see fresh new perspectives and ideas and come back encouraged to see the church alive and well.
